Zodwa Zwane launched her professional career in the financial services sector with Standard Bank of South Africa in the early 1980’s.
Among others, while serving as a Clerk she honed her interpersonal skills as she worked required daily interaction with clients. She grew within the organization and was appointed as Team Leader with overall responsibility for mobilising her team to meet the targets and the goal the Bank had set for them.
Experience
In 1996 she joined Nedbank as Team Leader and while there was headhunted to lead the Discovery Health call centre (customer contact centre) Team. In 2005 she joined the medical practice of Dr. S. Matukane as an administrator, handling Medical Aid schemes matters as well financial management of the practice.
In 2007 she entered into a public profiled role following her appointment as Personal Assistant and office manager of the now late liberation struggle stalwart, Mrs. Winnie Madikizela-Mandela. Her responsibilities included the development and implementation of effective policies and procedures of the office while also liaising with Parliament for her Member of Parliament (MP) and Deputy Ministerial roles.
Zodwa would take care of all logistical arrangements including planning her local, national, and international trips, and would often travel with her, so as to ensure all the protocols were observed. She organized all her engagements.
Her responsibility as the frontline Manager of the office included ensuring that the image of the office and that of the Principal was maintained, thus interacting with prominent individuals.
Currently, Zodwa serves as Administrator in the office of the Premier of Gauteng, a role that again places her in contact with several prominent political, business, civic organisations, and more personalities. Having served in private and public sector formations have equipped Zodwa to fit into diverse industrial settings. Her lived experience is rich, deep, and varied.
